Why rubber over felt
Felt is laid in layers with joints, and joints are where flat roofs leak. A rubber membrane covers a typical garage in one piece. No heat is used to lay it, which matters on an attached garage or anything near a fence.
The build-up
Old covering off, deck inspected and replaced where it is soft, firrings to set the fall, insulation if the space below is heated, then the membrane bonded down with the edges dressed into drip and gutter trims.
Finishing details
Kerbs around rooflights, upstands at abutments, lead or trim at the wall junction and a proper outlet into the gutter. The details are what separate a rubber roof that lasts from one that lifts at the corner in two years.

Can EPDM be walked on?
For maintenance, yes. If it is a balcony or a regular walkway we would spec fibreglass or add a walkway layer, and we will tell you which at the quote.
Can you fit a rooflight at the same time?
Yes. A kerb goes in while the deck is open, which is the cheapest time to do it, and the membrane dresses up and over.
What colour is it?
Black is standard and it is what nearly everyone has. Fibreglass is the option if you want a grey or a colour to match.
