What a full re-roof includes
Scaffold up and the old tiles and felt off. Timbers checked and replaced where they have gone. New breathable membrane and treated battens, then the covering laid, verges and valleys formed, and the ridge fixed dry rather than bedded in sand and cement that cracks in five years.
How long it takes
A standard semi is usually three to five working days once the scaffold is up, weather permitting. We sheet the roof each night so the house stays dry, and everything goes in a skip and off the drive, not in a pile by your fence.
What it costs
The price turns on the size and pitch of the roof, the state of the timbers, the tile you choose and the scaffold. We measure, tell you what we find in the loft, and give you one fixed written figure. If the timbers are sound and the tiles are good, we will tell you that too.

Common questions
How long does a new roof last?
A concrete tile roof laid properly on new battens and membrane should give you decades of service, and slate longer again. What shortens a roof is the detail: mortar ridges, bad flashings and cheap felt. Those are the parts we do not skimp on.
Will you use my existing tiles?
Sometimes. If the tiles are sound and you like them, we can strip, re-batten, re-felt and re-lay them, which saves money. We will tell you on the quote whether yours are worth keeping.
Do I need to be at home?
Not for the whole job. We need access to the drive for the scaffold and the skip, and about ten minutes at the start and the end. You get photographs as the work goes on either way.
