Chimney aprons, step flashings and soakers where a roof meets a wall, and abutment flashings at extensions and dormers. Correct code lead, correct laps, correct fixings, so it stays put through a summer of expansion and a winter of frost.
Valleys and box gutters
Open lead valleys re-formed on new boards and underlay, and box gutters behind parapets re-lined with the right drips and falls. These carry half a roof of water, so a fold in the wrong place is a leak waiting to happen.
Bay roofs and porches
Small lead roofs over bays and porches, formed with proper welts and drips rather than one flat sheet that buckles. Done well they outlast the house owner.

Common questions
Can lead be repaired or does it need replacing?
Small splits can be patch welded, but fatigue cracks usually mean the sheet is too long for the movement it takes. If it has cracked once it will crack again, so we replace it and set the laps correctly.
Is lead still allowed on houses?
Yes, lead is a standard roofing material and we use it where it belongs. Substitutes have their place on low-value details, but nothing matches lead at a chimney.
Will you match old lead so it does not stand out?
New lead weathers to grey within a year. We patinate where the join with old lead would otherwise look stark.
