New slate roofs
Strip, re-batten to the correct gauge for the slate, breathable membrane, then slate laid to a proper head lap with copper or aluminium nails. Lead soakers and valleys formed rather than bought as a plastic substitute.
Slipped slates
Slate slips because the nail corrodes, not because the slate failed. We refix with a tingle or lift the courses and re-nail, depending on how many have gone. If a third of the roof is dropping slates, re-nailing the lot is the honest answer.
Matching old slate
On a period house the new slate has to sit with the old. We source second-hand reclaimed or match the size and colour as closely as the supply allows, and we will show you a sample on the roof before we cover it.
