Pitched roofs

Full strip and re-roof in concrete tile, clay tile or slate, with new battens, breathable membrane and dry ridge. Repairs to slipped and cracked tiles, valleys, verges, flashings and ridge tiles where the roof has life left in it.

Flat roofs

Garage, extension and dormer roofs in EPDM rubber or fibreglass, laid over new decking and insulation with proper falls so water gets to the outlet instead of sitting in a puddle. If yours is leaking but the deck is sound, our flat roof repairs put it right without a full replacement.

Roofline and rainwater

Fascias, soffits, bargeboards, guttering and downpipes in uPVC. This is the work that stops damp inside and rot in the roof timbers, and it is the cheapest way to make a tired house look sorted.

What is included

  • New roofs and full re-roofs
  • Roof repairs and emergency call-outs
  • Flat roofing in EPDM and fibreglass
  • Chimney repairs, repointing and leadwork
  • Fascias, soffits and guttering
  • Roof windows, dormers and ventilation

How a roofing job runs with us, start to finish

  1. The phone call. You ring 01908 024436 or send the form. Denis asks what you can see, where the water shows and how old the house is, and books a time to look.
  2. The free inspection. Denis goes into the loft and up on the roof. No call-out charge, no sales pitch, no pressure to sign on the day.
  3. Photographs and a written price. You get the photographs of what he found and one fixed figure in writing, covering scaffold, materials, labour and waste.
  4. The work. Scaffold or access goes up, the roof is opened only as far as can be closed the same day, and you get progress photographs as it goes.
  5. Sign-off. Gutters cleared, the drive swept, finished photographs sent and the guarantee terms for the work confirmed in writing.

Signs your roof needs a roofer now

  • Water stains on a ceiling or chimney breast
  • Daylight through the boards in the loft
  • Tiles or slates in the garden after wind
  • Cracked or missing mortar on the ridge or verge
  • Gutters overflowing or a wall going green below them
  • A flat roof with water still sitting on it two days after rain

Roof coverings we work with

  • Concrete interlocking tile: The standard covering on most Milton Keynes estates. Quick to lay, heavy enough to sit tight in wind, and available in a range of profiles and colours.
  • Plain clay tile: Smaller, double-lapped and found on older and period houses. Slower to lay and longer lasting.
  • Natural and fibre cement slate: Nailed rather than clipped, and the covering on most Victorian terraces in Wolverton, Bedford and Northampton.
  • EPDM rubber and GRP fibreglass: Our two flat roof systems, both laid cold, so no naked flame ever goes near your house.

How long it takes

A repair is a few hours to a day. A garage or extension flat roof is one to two days. A full re-roof on a three-bedroom semi is around a working week once the scaffold is up. You get the number of days written on your quote.

What affects the price

  • Size and pitch of the roof
  • Access, and whether scaffold is needed
  • The covering you choose
  • The state of the timbers and decking underneath
  • Leadwork, chimneys and roof windows in the job

See our roofing price guide for typical ranges, then book the free inspection for a fixed written figure.

Aftercare

Look up at the roof after any big storm and keep the gutters clear once a year. If anything looks wrong, send a photograph and Denis will tell you whether it needs a visit.

Dennis was brilliant. He spotted the problem straight away and didn’t fuss. It was refreshing to have a professional that doesn’t take advantage. Worked quickly and very well. Brilliant.

Common questions

Do you take on small repairs?

Yes. A slipped tile or a leaking valley is worth doing properly and we would rather fix it than sell you a roof you do not need yet.

Do you work on commercial buildings?

We prefer domestic work, and we do take on commercial roofs. Send us what you have and we will tell you honestly if it is one for us.

Do you use scaffolding?

On anything involving a full roof, a chimney or work at height across a slope, yes. It goes in the quote so there is no surprise line later.

What happens after I enquire?

Denis calls you back, usually within a couple of hours during the day, books the free inspection, then sends photographs and a fixed written price.

Do you subcontract the work?

No. The roofing on this site is done by our own team, from the scaffold to the last ridge tile.
