Levels, falls away from the house and somewhere for the water to go. A lawn or a patio laid on ground that has not been prepared will sink, sit wet and be a problem within a year.
Turf, paths and edging
New turf on prepared and graded soil, block or timber edging to hold the line, and paths that connect the bits of the garden people actually walk between.

How a landscaping job runs
- Walk the garden together. We look at the levels, where the water goes, what stays and what comes out, and agree the job in plain terms.
- Clear. Overgrowth, old slabs, rotten decking and rubbish cleared and taken away, so the ground can be seen properly.
- Groundwork. Levels set, falls taken away from the house, and soft or wet ground dug out and replaced with a firm base.
- Build. Fencing, edging, paths, patio and turf, in the order that stops one trade damaging another's work.
- Clean finish. Waste removed, paths swept and the garden handed back ready to use, with care notes for new turf.

No. If you know roughly what you want, we will build it properly. If you want a designed scheme, get the drawing done and we will price the build.

How long does a garden take?
A clearance and turf is usually two to three days. Add a patio or a fence and it grows from there. You get the days on the quote.
Can you do the fence, patio and lawn together?
Yes, and it is cheaper than three trades on three different weeks. We plan the order so the turf goes down last and nothing gets damaged.
Do you need access through the house?
Only if there is no side access. Where we have to come through, the floors are covered and nothing is carried through until it is protected.
