A fence fails at the post, not the panel. We use concrete posts and gravel boards on most runs, or set timber posts in concrete where the look matters, so the whole line does not come down in the first serious wind. What we fit
Composite panels for a maintenance-free finish, closeboard for strength, standard lap panels where budget matters, and horizontal slatted where the garden is the room. Gates to match, hung on hardware that will still shut in five years.
Ground and levels
Sloping gardens get stepped or raked properly. Where old concrete or roots are in the way we dig them out rather than shuffling the line across, because a fence one foot inside the boundary causes arguments later.

How a new fence goes in, step by step
- Free quote visit. We walk the boundary with you, check the ground, the levels and what is in the way, and agree the line, height and style.
- Take down. Old panels, posts and gravel boards removed and loaded straight onto the trailer, not stacked by the shed.
- Set out. A string line run from the house to the end of the garden, so the new fence is straight and on the boundary.
- Posts in concrete. Concrete posts set in concrete at the right spacing, plumb and in line, and left to go off.
- Gravel boards and panels. Concrete gravel boards set level or stepped with the ground, then the panels or boards fitted.
- Gates and finish. Gates hung on proper hardware, caps fitted, and the lawn and borders left tidy.

Which fence lasts longest?
Composite on concrete posts, with nothing to rot or paint. Closeboard on concrete posts is the best value in timber.
Whose fence is it?
Check your deeds for the T marks. If it is shared, we will fit to the boundary line and leave you the photographs for the neighbour.
Can you fit a fence in winter?
Yes. Wet ground actually digs easier. We only stop for a frozen dig or high wind with panels.
Do you take the old fence away?
Yes. Taking down, removal and disposal are in the price, and the old panels never get left for you to deal with.
Do I need to tell my neighbour?
It is good manners and avoids arguments. We fit to the agreed line and can leave you photographs of the boundary before and after.
